I grew up in a Christian home where family, education, and a work ethic were extremely important. My mother was a teacher and encouraged creativity while my father was a maintenance supervisor with a strong work ethic who believed that an education would open doors for you. I was born in Africa, to American parents. My father was the principal of an American school there and my mother was a teacher. We moved back to the United States when I was 5 years old and lived in western Kansas in a small Mennonite community where both of my parents continued to teach at a small college. Read more
About The Model
When Jill decided to use human hands to symbolize God, she knew immediately who she would use as her model. Her father, Orv Wiebe had the strong, wrinkled, hard-working, yet gentle hands that she needed. Though Dr. Wiebe was a psychologist before retirement, he has very strong, calloused hands from working with them in every kind of construction and creative endeavor.
